MOTOR CAR COLLISION.

RUNS INTO TELEGRAPH POST. A motor-car, belonging to Mr. Selwyn Craig. of Mountain Road, Kpsom. collided with a telegraph post in Park Road, near Grafton fJridge. about 9.30 on Saturday evening, and was considerably damaged as the result of the impact. Mr. R. Yickerm.-.n was driving. and Mr. Craig and a young lady were also in the oar. which was the wellknown Packard racing machine in which ; Mr. Craig broke the New Zealand record at Muriwai beach some months ago. It had recently been fitted up with a newsteel body and equipped for use as an ordinary touring car. It had just passeu i SeafieKl View Road when the driver noticed that, possibly owing to some mishap to the steering gear, he was too close to the left hand pavement. Almost immediately, before he could alter the position of the car, there was a loud scraping noLse. indicating that the mudguard had come in contact with the kerb, and the wheels were against it. The car instantly mounted the footpath and collided with a telegraph post. Tin* occupants escaped without serious injury, but the car was considerably damaged. The left headlight was forced riack and the glass broken, the mudcuard buckled, -and the bonnet considerably bent and twisted. The front axle also suffered from the force of the collision, and several other parts of -the car were damaged.
