This Is now finished, and the No. _ stopc started over where -old was pot in the No. 1 stope. Strum; colours of sold were seen in the ore broken during the week. Newreef: The winze being sunk from this level, about midway between the Nn. l mid _ winzes, is down l_ft. In the seaward end the reef is solid iron sulphide from _in to •Sin in width. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At our Claudelands stock sale held on Thursday. August 10, we had a good entry of sheep and cattle, and rather a smaller yarding of fat pigs. Among the beef were a number of prime fat cows and heifers, which created good competition. Tbe mutton also sold well. The dairy cows, mostly of poor n-alily. were dull of sale, while on the other hand good well grown heifers close to profit were quite the contraryAll young cattle sold freely, also the store pigs.
