Mr. J. H. Stallard, who for the past thirteen months has been associated with the management of the Ponsonby Club Hotel, was on Saturday evening made the recipient of a solid silver cigarette ease at a happy gathering of Ponsonby sports. During the evening eulogistic reference was made to the genial guest, and his health drunk with musical honours. Mr. Stallard suitably acknowledged the gift. Mr. W. Wallis, agent for tlie Federal Steam Navigation Co. at Wellington, arrived in Auckland on Sunday, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. C. E.
