DENIAL BY COMMISSIONERS.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, this day

Regarding the comments made by Mr. McCombs in the House on the alteration of the boundaries of Kaiapoi and Riccarton electorates, members of the South Island Representation Commission warmly refute the insinuation that their decision in the matter was influenced by any political considerations. Mr H. Quane said no political influence had been brought to bear on the Commission. A petition objecting to the boundaries as originally decided upon was considered on its merits. Mr. G. H. Bullard (Commissioner of Crown Lands) indicated that he was in accord with Mr. Quane's statement that no political influence had been used.
