BERLIN, August 11. The latest imitator of the "Cobbler of) Koepenick" held up a prison van full of | prisoners in a Berlin street Declaring! himself to be a police inspector, and I showing a badge on a lapel of his coat, i he got up beside the driver. When he! reached the prison the officials there were equally deceived, and obeyed every order of the so-called inspector, who proceeded on a tour of the cells. He ordered thisj prisoner a good meal and that one a ■ better bed. He also instructed that \ several others should be liberated imme- j diately. He next ordered the governor of the prison out of his bed and reprimanded him severely for bad management. Before complete chaos was reached one of the gaolers closely scrutinised the badge and . found it to be a political propaganda badge inscribed, "Remember Upper Silesia." The man was arrested and proved to be a Berlin tailor.—(A. and N.Z. Cable) j
