A cable received this morning by the Canadian Government Mercantile Marine advises the Canadian Explorer's ports as follows:—Brisbane. Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Wellington and Auckland. She is expected to arrive here about the second week in October. There is also cargo aboard for Dunedin and Lyttelton. DREDGING AT WAIHOU. The Paeroa harbour master reports that the public works suction dredge "Waihou" is operating on. the Waihou Kiver, between Xetherton and Paeroa. with moorings across the river. During tbe day, two black shapes will be exhibited 6 feet apart, horizontal, 30 feet above the water. One will be lowered on the side that vessels may pass, to Indicate that the wires are lowered on that side. At night two red lights will be exhibited oO feet above tbe water, and 0 feet apart, liorizontal. Oue will be lowered and a white light substituted on the side that vessels may pass to indicate that the wires are lowered on that side.
