ALLEGED PERJURY.
. . m —————— " HOTELKEEPER CHARGED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MASTERTON, Friday. On a charge of perjury John Thomson, of Tauera, hotel licensee, was to-day committed for trial at the Masterton sittings of the Supreme Court in September. This is the sequel, to tbe conI viction recorded against Thomson on April 28, for supplying liquor to William I Hulme on Sunday, March 20. Accused had sworn in evidence that Hulme was not at his hotel on that date and that the beer he sold him was taken away on tbe Saturday. The case for the police Is based on the alleged facts that Hulme was not at the Taueru Hotel on Saturday, March 25, and that he was there . and paid for drinks on the Sunday. ! Accused pleaded not guilty and reserved, his defence. Bail in one surety I of £150, and self in £150 was granted.
