TRAMWAY AFFAIRS.
LOST PROPERTY SYSTEM. An improved method of dealing with property found in the trams wae adopted by the City Council last night, on the recommendation of the tramways manager. It includes a booking fee of 3d to be charged for articles claimed at the depot, and of 6d for identifiable articles concerning which owners are notified by postcard. The members of the Auckland and Suburban Local Bodies' Union applied to the City Council last night to be granted concession tickets on the trams which would be operative on the working days of the week between the hours of C a.m. and 7 p.m. on any numEer of eections at a rate of 2/ per week. The request was referred to the Works Committee.
