HOCKEY.
AUCKLAND V. WAIKATO. AT REMUERA TO-MORROW. The Auckland representative team which ia about to go on a tour of the North Island has been challenged by Waikato for the hockey shield, and the game will be played at Remuera to-morrow afternoon. The teams are as published , in these columns yesterday, and although the city players are confident of being able to retain the trophy, there is every reason to believe that the Waikato team , is not one to be lightly regarded. As a curtain rais#r to the shield game the : Auckland junior reps, will play a match against a Waikato B team. The teams for this match are: — Auckland. —Goal, Murgatroyd; fullbacks, Ritchie, Dutton; halves, Giles, L Carter, Fowler; forwards, Burton, R Carter, Savage, J. Carter, Hunt. Reserve, Wilkie. Waikato B.—Goal, Darling; full-backs. Peters, Bergeson; halves, Fallows Sweeney, Kern; forwards, Campbell, Conradi, Adams, Harvey, Prosser. Referees for shield match, Messrs. Norton and Hunter.
