KILLS ANOTHER WITH A HAMMER. VANCOUVER, July 15. Accusing Mrs. Alberta Meadows of improper relations with her husband, Mrs. A. L. Phillips attacked lier with a hammer, in a suburb of Los Angeles, and killed her, raining blow after blow, while a third woman, Mrs. Caffee, looked on in horror. Mrs. Meadows denied the accusation. After the murder Mrs. Phillips ordered Mrs. Caffee into her motor car. and swore her to secrecy. Then she drove to the city and told her husband: "The woman you love is dead." Mrs. Phillips then gave herself up to the police.
