OBITUARY.

MR. SAMUEL HETHERINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Own CorreeDondent.) THAMES, this day. The death occurred on Sunday of Mr. Samuel Hetherington, a leading business man at Thames since the earliest days. He was born in Ireland in 1839, and landed at Auckland in 1865. Three years later he came to Thames, and in 1874 established business here. Deceased served on local bodies, but of later years travelled a great deal. He was a quiet, unassuming man, but had a wide circle of friends. His death removes a well known figure of the Thames and district. Deceased leaves a widow and two sons, residents of Thames, and three daughters in Wellington.
