MARKETS OF EMPIRE.
NEED FOB CULTIVATION. LONDON, July 21. A new organisation, styled the Empire Development Union, is being formed. It is headed by Viscount Long, Sir V. H. Caillard, and Mr. W. A. S. Hewins. Its object is to stimulate trade within the Empire. "Die union says in a statement that the present collapse of export trade, widespread unemployment, and embarrassment of the .national finances demand treatment on the lines of statesmanship laid down at the Imperial conferences of 1917 and 1918.—(A. and N.Z.
