DEVONPORT CLUB
At the annual general meeting in Mr. Ford's tea rooms. Mr. James I'ascoe presided over an attendauce of about 30 members. The report stated that the club had had a very successful season. 16 new members having joined, and the membership now stood at 84. The balance sheet showed the club to be in a very satisfactory position. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. Jas. I'ascoe; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. P. Wright and T. Gooding; secretary, Mr. C. A. Elvy; treasurer, Mr. '•'. Snond; auditor, Mr. W. B. Eyre; assistant secretary and reporter, Mr. J. susmuu; green superintendent, Mr. .1. l\ Wright; general committee. Messrs. A. Johnston, J. Morgan. .1. Jackson, and A. L. Jones; selectors, Messrs. \V. 1". Warren aud J. Morgan; delegates to ceutre, Messrs. J. •i'ascoe. J. P. Wright and D. Harvey: control of winter greeu. Mr. 11. Martinson. Trophies were presented to the winners of the various club competitions as under: Club Championship: Mr. .1. Jackson; run-ner-up, Mr. It. Mitchell. Handicap Singles: Mr. \V. Bailey; runner-up, Mr. 11. Campbell. Handicap Pairs: Messrs. 11. Buy ley and P. Walsh: runners-up, Messrs.* T. 'Gooding and C. Roberts. First-year Championship: Mr. H. Ching. Handicap Singles (season 1020-21): Mr. A. Blackie; runner-up, Mr. D. 11. Sisson. Competitions for the Challenge Stars presented at the last annual meeting were inaugurated during the season, keen competitions resulting iv the Stars changing hands frequently during the year. Tho secretary and treasurer, both of whom were re-elected, were the recipients of a case of pipes each. The president, in making the presentations on behalf of the members, referred to the jrood work done by these two officials during the past season. Silver Stars were presented to the club by Mr. H. Martinson for competition on the winter green.
The club decided to again enter for the Lambert Cud and Pennant competitions conducted by tbe Auckland Centre
