WHITE WIFE OF CHINESE.
SOLD AS A SLAVE IN CHINA.
On the Minderoo, which reached l'erth from China recently, there arrived an Englishwoman, aged +6. who married a Chinese in Perth 21 year* ago. Her husband took her to China with him at her own free will, but on his death, his relatives sold her as a slave for l>o dollars. She suffered severely by famine, lost a leg through accident, and was finally given away as useless. She was rescued by an Irish mission. Her case was brought under the notice of the British authorities, who arranged for her return, a physical wreck, to Perth. The immigration authorities have placed her in a religious home.
