The King attended the amateur athletic championships meeting at Stamford Bridge, the competitors including French, Swiss, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Esthonian champions. H. Edward, a West Indian sprinter, performed the unprecedented feat of winning the 100 yards in 10 seconds, 220 yards in 22 seconds, and the quarter mile in 50 2-5 seconds.
Kent Hughes, of Melbourne, won the quarter-mile hurdles in 59 seconds.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.))
