Sciver and another, and tfc» defendants Ellis and Burnand. Messrfc Strand and Gordon appeared for ths plaintifTs. and Mr. MacDiarmid for tljj defendants. The case aro-c out "* damage done by lire to plaintiffs' la™ near Ongarue, plaintiffs' alleging that the fires were caused by sparks from tn9 defendants' bush tram engines. Th« defence was a denial of responsibility, or alternately, that if rcspoti-ible the damages were grossly exaggerated.
