A bill is now being I drafted by the Minister for submission j to Parliament which aims at the control j of the Communist .Sunday schools. The bill, which will be known as the Sedi- , tious Teachings' Bill, will have for its objective the prevention of the perversion of the minds of children under the! age of 16 by means of seditious teaching and revolutionary propaganda It deals only with the teaching of children and ! matters connected therewith, and has no! further or wider scope. Seditious intent. : as embodied in the bill by Mr. Ley, as defined "to bring into hatred or com-: tempt 'or to incite dissatisfaction! ngainst the King and Constitution of Great Britain or the Commonwealth or I any State of the Commonwealth, or the administration of justice, or to incite the King's subjects to attempt otherwise than by lawful means the alteration of the form of government as by law established, or to promote feelings of ill-will nnd hostility between different classes of His Majesty's subjects'' The penalties are several and include imprisonment and heavy lines. Referring'ln the "bill. Mr. Lev said that he felt sure that he had the support of all decent people in his action. "All are agreed" he went on, "that the dissemination of vile propaganda amongst innocent children such as is naw being spread broadcast should be stopped, and ] am prepared to do all that is in my power to stop it."
