A PRISONER KILLED.

GAOL QUARRY FATALITY. While working in the quarries at the Mount Eden g=iol yesterday afternoon a prisoner, Ernest Bechre, sustained injuries from which lie subsequently succumbed at the hospital. The deceased was a married man, 37 years of age. Particulars of the accident show that Beehre was leading a horse attached to a truck and slipped on the line; before he could recover himself the front wheels of the truck passed over both his legs, .which were practically aavered. The sufferer was immediately conveyed to the hospital and operated on, but he failed to recover from the terrible shock and injuries and died about an hour later.
