A LOW-DOWN TRICK.
JEWISH STUDENT AT ANNAPOLIS. CLASSMATES' VEILED INSULT. WASHINGTON, June 15. A furore has been aroused in Congress by the action of the graduating class at the National Naval Academy, Annapolis, in issuing a book commemorating the class in which the last page, containing the biography of a graduate of Jewish extraction who won the second highest honours, was perforated so that the page could be torn out without damaging the expensive book.' Charges were made by Senators of racial and religious discrimination. Mr. Sutherland has sent a protest to the President. Admiral Wilson, of ' the academy, called the act a low-down dirty trick. The Navy Department is investigating the matter.— (A. and N.Z.)
