To-day is the sixteenth anniversary of the death of the latn Mr. R. J. Seddon, formerly Premier of New Zealand. Mr. Seddon had previously been in ill-health, and wnn taken on a trip in the Hincmoa round X<"W Zealand to give him a complete rest from political matters. He had apparently recovered, on a trip to Australia accompanied by his wife. On the night be was to leave Sydney. Mr. Seddon was entertained at a banquet, and practically the last telegram he scut was: "Returning to God's own country." 'Hie Oswcstrv Orange had not long left Sydney when Mr. Seddon collapsed and died of heurt failure. The vessel put hack to Sydney, and the sad news waa at oncu cabled to Now Zealand. No eases of typhoid have been reported to the Health' Department during the past two days.
