LATER NEWS.

MORE OF THE CREW TAKEN OFF WRECK, ALL HANDS EXPECTED TO BE RESCUED THIS AFTERNOON. WEATHER NOW MODERATING. Splendid news was contained in an advice received by the Union Steam Ship Company from their steamer Katoa. The message, which wae received at 11.30 a.m., states that the men who were taken down yesterday by the Moeraki have now reached Rosalie Bay, and are working the life-saving gear from the shore. After they established communication with the wreck the man-o'-warsmen got several more of the Wiltshire crew ashore, and it is expected that the rest of the people on board will be taken off this afternoon. Provided that the work of getting the men off proceeds without interruption all the rescued should be aboard the Katoa to-night, and she will then leave for Auckland. The weather was reported to be moderating.
