Mr. W. 15. T.cyland presided. The lecturer said that a better term for the treatment of limber than kilndrying would be—the ronditioriim.- of timber. A dry-kiln was really an apparatus in which timber could he dried to any condition required. in drying timber the three chief factors were the rirculatloTi of the air. the humidity of the air. and the temperature. These wore conditions whie'a an efficient, kiln miiM provide. The. physics! properties of tiir-'w, tlip i-ellular formation of wood, and the effect of drvinir U|)on it, were dealt with u1 lencih !i y the lecturer.
