ItECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED. | DISTRICT COURT'S DISPLAY. I The third-annual winter show of the i Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society opened at I'ukekohe this morning j before a large attendance. The various sections were well filled and the showwas considered a record one for the dis-, trict. An enlargement to accommodation was considered necessary a few weeks! ago and the large number of entries received bares testimony to the foresight und enterprise of the general committee.] Tin re is a 50 per cent increase in the number of exhibits in almost every section. The entries in the dog classes include contestants from all parts of the North Island. The poultry classes are also well patronised, and include birds from different parts of the province. In the industrial classes the entries also showed a large increase compared with the previous winter show. Other sections icciuJe industrial and farming displays, fancy work, cookery, fruit, flowers and vegetables.
