FANCY GOODS DEALERS FAILURE.

> INSURANCE CLAIM CONTESTED. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Catherine Mary Sutherland was held vcslerdav afternoon, the Official Assignee. Mr. W. S. Fisher, presiding. The statement of 'bankrupt, a fancy goods dealer, showed liabilities amounting to £781, of which £758 was owing to unsecured creditors. The assets consisted of insurance policies on stock destroyed 'by flm valued at i'6oo, and other assets £18. leaving a deficiency of £163. Thr 'bankrupt was questioned at length regarding the fire which occurred in her -hop last January, and with regard to the value of the stock in it at the time. It was finally decided to get legal opinion with reference to Miss •Sutherland's insurance claim, which, it "as stated, was contested 'by the company.
