Johnston, of the Canadian Ciovprnment Railway?, who is at present at the Central Hotel, will leave for Sydney by the Makura on Friday. The Hon. C. J. Parr (Minister of Education) "'ill arrive in Auckland on Friday morning, and will leave that evening on a short visit to the North Auckland district. Before departing for the Xortii the Minister will receive a number of deputations. slr. C. K. C. RoTricson, general iiyinagor of the State Fire Insurance Department, was the recipient of a presentation from his officers, on the occasion of his retirement on superannuation at Wellington this week. Mr. Max U. King, of Manurewa, who was Ihe first X.G. of the Loyal Lodge, T.0.0.K.. M.U., Hawera., Taranaki. has ■lieen selected to preside at the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of that Lodge on June Ist.
