HIKVRANGI. Tbe aiuutnly meeting of the HiUurangl Town Board was held on Mondsv evening. Present: K. Swnun .chairman), k. Mcßeth. R. t'hcrrle. I. Mcßeth. and .1. Thompson. It was decided to allow the Whangarei Rugby Ciiiciu to erect or a shed for '-hanging purposes, and also a fence to keep spectators off the ronton II field, on the recreation ground. A letter from the Public Works Department, disclaiming any liability for the state nf tbe Valley Road, wss received. The Turora returning officer wrote asking for copies of by-laws ami regulations of the Hlkurangi Town Board, in order to form a Tnrnra Town Board. It was resolved to grant these copies. The Chamber of I iimmeree proposed that in future business premises built In Hiknrangi should be built with brl.-k or concrete, so n« to prevent spread of fire if an outbreak occurred. It was decided to leave the matter until the new by-laws were drnwu up. It was resolved to allow rhe war uieun,rial committee to erect a war memorial on the concrete bridge.
