FARMERS' SCHOOL
WINTER COCRSE AT RUAKI'IU. ArrangemeTits are now practically complete for this year's course of instruction •to farmers, aiid the school at Ruakura will be opened by Dr. Rcakos (DirectorUenerat of the Department of Agriculture) on Monday. May 15. As an evil deuce of the increasing usefulness and I popularity of these short courses, which are given in the off-season for dairy farmers and others, this year there has liecn a greater number of applications than was originally anticipated. The ; accommodation available has therefore i liad to be extended, and now the manager ; states that only about a dozsn more can Ibe accommodated on the farm. One hunI dred and eight applications have been ,' received, but <(uite a number of these havp made provision for lodgings in HamI ilton. In order that intending appli- ! cants may be oecommodated on the farm it is necessary that they should communicate without delay with the InstrueI tor in Agriculture, at Auckland. A feature of this year's applications for I instruction is the fact that, a uumber of I women have entered for the courses.
