Rebel troops continue to bold up bank*, s ,, '*-' building", and c--.it railways !„ all parts of Southern Inland. The people err becoming patiicatricken, not knowing where the trouble will next break out. The latest bnnk raids include the f'herlfvillp branch of the Bank of Ireland, where the sum of £9000 was captured, the Tuam ibranch £7000. j and the Boyle branch £6000. Events are moving lo a crisis in Kilkenny. Tlip bnildinge which thp rebels occupied include thp Protectant Cathedral and dwellings. Southern Protestants i angrily denounce the helplessness of the | Provisional Government in the. face of this gross outrage. The Free State troops in the district, however, are not willinjz to leave the rebels unmolested in Kilkenny A small force of pro-treaty troops, under f'olcnel ProuJ, occupied tiie mili-J tary bsrrncks and gaol a*. Kilkenny. An I exchange of shots has already occurred,' and the Free Staters captured two rebel! posts and eighteen prisoners. The rebels are now attempting to recapture the! prison. The Free State*' success in | ■Galwny. Mullingar. and other centres is due to the adoption of uncompromising methods. In each case the rebels were given ten n*inutcs to clear out of the towns. The rebel opposition immediately collapsed. Thr. whole business of the port, of Dublin is paralysed owing to the seizure of the dock offices a.nd the fact that the rebels are using the books for fortification purposes.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
