A meeting of the Council of the Xew 1 Zealand Golf Association wae held in Wellington on Monday, when details in ! connection with the next New Zealand championship tournament were considered, and several important changes decided upon. The principal business was in connection with the championship tournament, ■ which is to be held at Palmerston North. ' The dates were definitely fixed as from j September 11 to .September Iβ. ! The conditions for the qualifying i rounds for the amateur championship passed at last meeting were rescinded, and it was decided that the whole of the four qualifying rounds of the open championship should be also the qualifying rounds for the amateur championship, the licet sixteen to qualify, and all , matches in the play-off to be over 38 hole*. The entries for the amateur championship are to be strictly limited tn (H, and no competitor whose medal handicap is more than S may enter.
