He showed it to several and tried I to »ell it for a small sum. Son>? told ! him it was a bit of glass and useless, and ' others that it was worth £1.000, and he . took it to the jeweller.- to ascertain its j value. i The detective discovered the. other boy,; who had a quantity of valuable jewellery' in his possession frcm which the jewels' had been extracted. Ho confirmed the sale of the jewel, and admitted taking. the jewellery from a residence in town. I The occupier of the house was advised of! the confession.
