The "Pall Mall Gazette" , says tha notwithstanding the Ross Smith tra gedy, plans are well advanced for an other air flight round the world, tin pilot being a former R.A.F. officer nov employed in the Air Ministry. A epe <ially designed flying boat of hug< dimensions is to be built. The rout< proposed is westwards, starting at Lie bon, thence via the Azores, across Nortl America to Honolulu r Manila, Calcutta and Cairo.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.) A TWO MOUTHS' • FLIGHT. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 27. The officers undertaking the round-the-world flight are Major W. T. Blake (the "Daily News" aeronautical correspondent), accompanied by Captain Normar McMillan. Both flew to Morocco ir 1921. Major Blake, interviewed by the "Star," said he expected to start at the end of May, and awaited the Air Minis try's permission to borrow one' of its special amphibian machines. The Vickers and Napier Companies and Shell and Wakefield Oil Companies, who backed Six Ross Smith, are supporting the project, The proposed route was via France, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, Burma, China, Japan, Aleutian Islands, Alaska, United States, Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, to Scotland, the total distance being 30,000 miles, the longest sea passage being 800 miles.
