GREY LYNN WORKERS' HOMES
A request was made by Mr. Bloodworth recently that the Works (."ommittee of the City Council should report as to the progress being made with five workers' homes at Grey Lynn: also, as to the desirability of proceeding with the erection of further dwellings when those at Grey Lynn were completed. At last night's meeting of the Council the Works Committee tabled a report from the City Engineer stating that in December last the * Council decided to undertake the •construction of five additional workers' dwellings at Grey Lynn, at a cost of £4305, to which had to be added the cost of the main sewer. Four should be completed by the end of the month. He had not received all the invoices, but present indications led him to believe the whole work would be completed for the amount of the estimate. The Council decided to offer the dwellings for sale when completed and the cost ascertained. The question of building a further number of I dwellings is tn remain in abeyance pending the disposal of the five now being: I erected.
