CHEMISTS ASSISTANTS' DISPUTE.

CONCILIATION PROCEEDINGS. The Conciliation Council met this morning to consider the retail chemists' employees dispute. Mr. P. Hally, Conciliation Commiesioner, presided, and the assessors Were: For the employers, Messrs. A. F. Eccles, H. T. King, T. W. Irwin and P. E. Wright; for the union, Messrs. J. H. \lortensen and A. G. Foley. The demands of the union have been previously published in the "Star." The dispute has been considered in country districts • and a tentative agreement arrived at on many points. These are subject to confirmation by the council at the present sitting. Up to the time of goin c to press a number of clauses had been agreed to, but there still remained some 'important matters to be determined. These include wages, regulation of apprenticeship, and preference. It is expected that a full agreement will be reached on all points:
