RELIEF SOUGHT.

THE WILL OF A. G. PULLING. In the Supreme ■ Court yesterday, before -Mr. -lustice Eeed, Alfred Caleb Pulling (Mr. Luxford) and Mrs. Ada Falla (Mr. CJotild) applied, under the terms of the Family Protection Act, fof relief on the ground that they -were children of the late Alfred Ueorge Pulling, who died seven years ago. leaving an estate of £2200. ' Dr. Fitchett appeared for the Public Trustee, and Mr. Munro for the Attorney-General. Mr. Gould also represented three grandchildren, who claimed relief. Mr. Luxford stated that the deceased left a will giving a life estate to his wife, and after , lier death everything went to charity. Some uncertainty 'had. exited concerning the. interpretation of the will, but that had been adjusted by the Court. Mr. Luxford stated that the claimant Pulling, who was now 70 years of age. had no estate. AVhen he was a young man he had. helped his father considerably, and was therefore entitled to such. relief as would permit of him enjoying the ordinary comforts of life. On behaif of his clients, }[r. Gould spoke in support of Jlr. Luxford's contentions. Dr. Fitchett said that ordinarily the Public Trustee adopted a neutral attitude, but in. the present ease it had! been decided to protect the charities. The children should be given some annu--ity. but the principal sum after their death should be given to charity. Mr. Munro also supported this view. As son>e important principles were involved, his Honor reserved his decision.
