SATURDAYS GAME?. CARLTON" WINS THE PENNANT FINAL. Bowlers were favoured with a beautiful day on Satirrdav. when em* and mter-ctub games were played on the various greens in the city and suburbs. PENNANT FINALS. The finals or the pennant tournament were played on the Carlton Green on Saturday afternoon, when, after a closely contested game. Carlton defeated West end hy ISO points to 177. The special feature of the tonniev was that the West Bnd team led practically from the start until nearly the finish. At the afternoon tea adjournment they were 30 points ahead, and at tne last head 21 points in the lead. Carlton made a wonderful recovery, and piled on -»-l points when the game looked a foregone conclusion. The president of the Centre (Mr. C. V. I.angsford). in a neat speech presented the nennant and cup to the president of the Carlton Club He referred to the fine play and the closeness of I lie contests. ITe p3id a warm tribute to the winners, and mentioned that, in Ins opinion the entertainment given by the Carlton Club that afternoon was most en.iovable.
