CHANGED HIS TUNE.

Although John T. Lyons, a grocer at Waterbury, Conn., decided he had had enough of life, he is so grateful to bis assistant, •Raymond Simonson, for frustrating bis suicide attempt that he has given him a big rise 10 salary and made him his store manager. Lyons hanged himself from a beam ln the rear of his store, and; says a "Central News" wire, was almost dead when Simonson cut the rope with a butcher's knife. "Life seemed hopeless and gloomy to mc, so I decided to end it all, but now that I'm in no danger of dying it looks mighty good to mc," said Lyons in St. Mary's Hospital.
