ORMONDVTLLE'S BLACK WEDNESDAY. (By TelegTaph.—Press Association.) DAX_""EVIP____E, this day. Onnondville's black Wednesday was recalled in the Magistrate's Court to-day when a middle-aged man, Bertram Alex, ander Hegh, was proceeded against on four charges arising out of fires in the township on February 22, when Dillon's store was burned down, the library set afire, and various incipient outbreaks were extinguished.

Hegh, in a confession to the police, admitted having fired Dillon's store, but could give no reason for his act except that lie had had a great deal of liquor. He pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial at Napier. Bail was allowed totalling £GOO sterling.
