OTIRA TUNNEL'S PROGRESS.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. As a result of a visit of inspection to the Otira tunnel, the Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Public Works, states that generally the work is proceeding satisfactorily. He does not anticipate any alteration of his previous statement that the line through the tunnel will be in operation about the end of the present year.
