DISPUTE FOR CONCILIATION. DELETION OF HALF-HOLIDAY PROPOSED. The employer; have intimated that they do not accede to the demands or" the union concerned in the Auckland retail chemists employees dispute, ami have filed as counter proposals the terms and conditions of the existing award, dated July i 4. 1&10. with a number of alterations. The demand- are said to be retrogressive, falling short of the wages and conditions that were current in 1.91(5. Weekly minimum rates of wages are proposed as follows: — Regi--tered assistants £.'! Til. unregistered t'2 10/, and relieving hands 6/S per week in addition to the forementioned amount-'. The apprentices' Avagcs clause is set out as follows:—(Per week): First rear 10,'. second 13/. third 10/. fourth 24/. while an apprentice who has serAed his term of apprenticeship may serve a further term as an improver at the folloAving rates of wages l per week I: First year £2. second £2 10/. and third £.1. It is also proposed to delete the weekly half holiday.
