POLO TOURNAMENT.
IE AWAMTTU WINS CUPS. J (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TE AWAMUTU, Friday. The provincial polo tournament Avas concluded to-day in the presence of a large croAVd. Play Avas continued all the Aveek in spite of the rain, and the ground Avas fairly broken. A dozen teams took part, and the play throughout av_b keen and exciting. The finals Avere:— Provincial Cup.—Te AAvamutu A v. Cambridge A: At the call of time both had scored tAvo goals. An extra spell Avas decided on. In this spell the captain of the Xc Awamutu team_ Mr. W. Kay, scored, and his side thus Avon "the Provincial Cup. Before the Avar this team held the cup for several years in succession.
Junior ( Cup.—Te AAvamutu B v. Cambridge 12: Both Avere equal until near the close of the. game, Avhen Te AAvamutu scored and Avon by three goals to two.
