HOSPITAL PATIENTS' FUND.
APPROXIMATELY £600 COLLECTED. As a result of the annual street collection conducted yesterday the Auckland Hospital Patients' Benevolent Fund will benefit to the extent of approximately £600. There are still amounts to come in from North Shore, Otahuhu and other outlying suburbs. Altogether the effort was a good one and all arrangements for the collection went off satisfactorily. A collection is being made at the motor cycle sports meeting on the Takapuna racecourse this afternoon, and this and the proceeds of a band concert to be held later is expected to bring the amount up to the £1000 required.
