GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER.
BECOMMENDATION TO MERCY. THREE YEARS' PROBATION. (By Telegraph.— Press Aeeoclation.i NAPIER, this day. Morgan Davies, a Hawke'e Bay eheepfsnner, who stood his trial on a charge of manslaughter in connection with the death of a 6$ year old boy near Hastings on November last, was found guilty, the jury adding a strong recommendation to mercy. Accused was admitted to probation for three yeare, during which time Daviee is to be prohibited and must not drive a car. Hie Honor said he was satie- , fled accused was drunk at the time of the accident, when lie failed to etop after knocking the child down. His Honor taid the jnry'e recomemndation to mercy had persuaded Vrim to admit prisoner to probation.
