SATURDAY'S SPORT. MOANA WINS OCEAN" RACE. The ocean yacht race to Bird Koc-k and return to Matlatia, a distance of Si miles, under tbe auspices of ibe Uoyal N.Z. Yacht Squadron, was wou by Moana. with Heartsease second, and Si-out third. ■Moana led uway from North Head, followed by Victory, ll.ttt.le Jim, VValtangi, Heartease, and Scout. In the close-haul to Bird Rock, Heartsease passed Wultangl and Victory, and rounding the mark the order was Moana, Heartsease, Victory, Waltangj, Little Jim, and Scout. Victory regained her poslt'on on the heat to Tiri, while Waltangi also improved her position. Passing c'aiio, Itoek llie order was Moana. Victory, Wuitangi. Heartsease, iLittle .liui. aud Scout. On the run from Tlrl Passage tile '.Moana reached Matiati:i first iv 3h 10m. followed by Victory at -to i Cm 2s. Therea'fer came Waltangi. Heartsease, Little Jim. and Scour, in that order. Tbe final placing was:-Mor.lia 1, Heartease 2, Scout :i. The one-design harbour racp resulted in a win for Bona, with Kewpie second, and Idler third. The North Shore Yacht Club held a cruising race lo Cowes Bay, Waiheke, for keel and centreboard yachts. The keel class was won by -Colonist (10m), oh ,"7ui oUs, with Itestless (s<-r). ,",h 40m. second, and Peri (19m), ",h 50m 2"n- t third.
