ANNIVERSARY REGATTA.

EXTRTES AND HANDICAPS. The eighty-second anniversary of the Dominion will bo celebrated in the timehonoured way by holding a regatta and aquatic sports on Monday, for which complete arrangements have been made by the Regatta Committee. l..ast year Calliope Dock was made the centre of attraction, and the samv arrangements will be made on Monday. The p.s. Britannia has been chartered, and will I j make frequent trips to. the dock wharf. 1 All the yacht and launch races, the I entries for which total over 200, will ■ start and finish in the immediate vicinity of the dock, and visitors will be able to ; see the races from there with plenty of room to move about from the harbour events to the swimming races in the dock ' itself. The greatest attraction this yrar will I be the "race for the 21-foot speed boats, the prize for which is £100. This will ', start at 3.15 p.m., and there will be four ' competitors, all ©if which have been j specially built for the race. To qualify for the" big prize the contestants muet ] attain a speed of at least 20 knots, and . two of the boats are. credited with doinp four or five knots in excess of the [ required speed. Everything points to a pood day's sport, and" if the weather is fine the regatta of W22 should rank as [ one of the best.
