SERGEANT DUKE EAREYVELLED. Sergeant C. R. Duke, who has been promoted from the rank of constable and transferred to Wellington, was met by a number of his colleagues at the police 'barracks this afternoon and received various articles presented to liim before he. leaves Auckland to take up his new duties. Sergeant. Duke has been in the force about fifteen years. He joined up at Dunedin, and after two years there was transferred to Auckland, where he has spent thirteen years in service in aud around Auckland.
