AN UNBREAKABLE DOLL.

The Fairies gave to Hilda (At least she tells mc so) A doll that can't be shattered By any sort of blow. It can't be torn asunder, Or stamped on till it's flat» And as she has two brothers, She loves a doll like that Tom hit it with » hammer, And hasn't made a crack, And Dick in vain attempted To rip it up the back. In spite of all their efforts Ttjat doll's as good as new (I only hope that Hilda Is speaking what is true). But true or false, I'm wanting A doll of just that kind, And so I hope tlie Fairies Will bear my case in mind. They shouldn't favour Hilda, forgetful of poor mc: She's Only got two brothers, While I, alas, have three! —Feliit Leigh in "Little Folks."
