FIVE ACCIDENTS.
i YESTERDAY'S TALIA". Xliere was a string of accidents yesterday, fortunately unattended by any very serious result. Sydney Lee, aged 22, a single man. and a steward on the Knikoura, slipped on the deck of his vessel during the afternoon and fractured two ribs. He was J attended by the ship's surgeon, and later on was admitted to the Hospital, where he is making satisfactory progress. A motorcar overturned in Beach Road, Parnell, about 5 p.m. as the result of a collision with a motor lorry, and Mr. Henry Buck and his daughter, Mrs. Close, the occupants, had to be conveyed to the Hospital. Mr. Buck was allowed to proceed to his home after minor injuries had been attended to, but his daughter, who received rather severe injuries to the head and face., had to lie detained for treatment. Thomas J. Adams, a returned soldier, was picked out. of the harbour last evening in an unconscious condition. He wae taken to the Hospital, but on regaining his senses was unable to account for his mishap. Percy Richard Loder, an old age pensioner," fell unconscious in Upper Queen Street last evening, and was taken to the Hospital by the .police. He was found to be suffering from shock, and is under treatment. Eric Morrison," a telegraph messenger, who residee at Second Avenue, Kingsland, was knocked down by a motorcar in Queen Street, opposite Darby Street, shortly before 10 p.m. He was attempting to crosjL the street on a bicycle, but was knoekea over by a motorcar, tile front wheel of which rested on the boy's body before it could be pulled up. Young Morrison was cararied to a near-by chemist's shop, where he was tended until the arrival of Dr. Horsley, who found that the boy had received nothing more serious than a severe shaking and bruising.
