Cable.) When the Canadian Government took .- over the Grand Trunk Railway, arbi ■• trators were appointed to decide what 1 value should be placed on the commor t preferred stock, which would define tin - amount the Government would pay. Ir il September last the arbitrators agrcec n that stock which had a. par value o - 37,OOO.OOtiv!ol ivns worth nothing. This c decision, which if accepted would absolvt c the Canadian Government from con>pen n sating shareholders, came as a tremendous -dous "surprise to English holders. Mr o YV. H.
