POSTAGE STAMPS
COMMISSION OX HALKS WITHDRAWN. Stationers and others who have included as a line in their businesses the sale of postage stamps have just been notified that the small commission t&at has been paid hitherto has been withdrawn. The announcement reaches them in the following terms: —
"As Cabinet has recently decided that the practice of granting commission to licensees, depositaries and bankers, on the purchase of stamps is to be abolished, 1 have to inform you that iu> commission is to be allowed on sarle of stamps on and after Ist December next.''
The practise hitherto has been for firms and individuals licensed to sHI stamps to purchase them at a discount of U per cent.
