In the IToukc of Representatives the Minister of Defence stated that the cutlinp il.-wii "i u> ■ ikfr-n.-- Ketimalrs ns part of neeessarj- retrenchment -would result in the dismissal of four hundred men, all returned soldiers. Dr. Earl Pajie sought to move for a reduction of the salaries of membejs of the House and Senate by 20 per cent, but wa3 blocked by a technical ruling. Ifr.
